Every year, Barritt’s Ginger Beer hosts a cocktail competition called the Barritt’s Bermuda Getaway. The rules are simple – create the next great cocktail using Barritt’s Ginger Beer as one of the main ingredients. The prize is sweet – an expense paid trip for two to Bermuda for a week of relaxing in the tropical sun.
Contest entries started rolling in months ago and there were some impressive recipes among them. A group of five judges narrowed that list down to 3 finalists in both the consumer and retailer categories. Representatives from Barritt’s, the judges, a bartender and the recipes all met last week in Miami for the final round of judging. In the end, two fabulous new drinks won top prize and their creators won a trip to Bermuda. Here are the winners.

Both look good. Trying the Bella Dona tonight.
Very nice. Barritts is king in the cocktail world, though I do enjoy Reeds by itself.
