We’re keeping the love for Bob Marley going today by featuring a cocktail created for yesterday’s reggae celebration at Rum Bar in Philadelphia.
For nearly 50 years, Bob Marley’s music has inspired peace, good vibes and mellow moods. But for Adam Kanter, cocktail wizard and owner of Rum Bar in Philadelphia, Bob’s music inspired a new cocktail menu filled with some awesome Jamaican rum drinks. He shared a few of the secret recipes with us and we’ll be rolling them out right here over the next few weeks, so stay tuned.
First, we’re featuring a simple and potent drink called Concrete Jungle. An interesting combination of overproof and dark rums, triple sec, orgeat, lime and pineapple juices, one sip will quickly put you in a happy place.
1 oz Wray & Nephew
1/2 oz Triple Sec
1/2 oz Lime Juice
1/4 oz Orgeat Syrup
3 oz Pineapple Juice
Float of Whalers Dark Rum
Instructions: Combine all ingredients in an ice filled cocktail shaker. Shake vigorously until well chilled. Strain into a rocks glass, float Whalers Dark Rum on top and garnish with a lime wedge.
Now sit back, crank up the reggae tunes and enjoy. Cheers!
