We reported on our sneak preview last week and now the launch of Dominican Club Rum is official. Available in three styles, Añejo, Gold and Silver, the rums are distilled and bottled in the Dominican Republic by renowned rum producer J. Armando Bermudez & Co. All of the rums feature exceptional taste and quality at an attractive, mid-premium price.
The lead variant in the Dominican Club range is the Añejo. Handcrafted with great care using traditional distillation methods and aged 5 years in American bourbon oak barrels, the Añejo is a rich aged rum with toasty aromas of light toffee and hints of chocolate, honey and molasses. As a testament to the brand’s exceptional taste, the Añejo received a rating of 89 points / Highly Recommended / Best Buy by the Beverage Testing Institute of Chicago. It is available in the 750ml and 1.75L sizes with suggested retail price of $14.99 on the 750ml and $24.99 on the 1.75L.
The range also includes Dominican Club Gold which is aged 2 years and mixes perfectly with cola and sodas and Dominican Club Silver which is aged 1 year and is ideal for tropical drinks or mixed with juices or diet cola. Both the Gold and Silver are available in the 750ml size with a suggested retail price of $11.99.
The brand is being supported by a consumer campaign under the headline “Welcome to the Club”. The campaign is heavily focused on generating consumer trial and includes an introductory $3 mail-in refund offer where legal.
Dominican Club is currently available in 17 states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Washington and Washington, D.C.
