Happy Birthday Bob Marley

Today is the legendary Bob Marley’s birthday – so relax, crank up the reggae tunes and get in the right state of mind with a Jamaica-inspired drink.

imageOne Love, One Heart
Let’s get together and feel alright
One Love, One Heart
Give thanks and praise to the Lord and I will feel alright
Sayin’ let’s get together and feel alright

Let them all pass all their dirty remarks (One Love)
There is one question I’d really like to ask (One Heart)
Is there a place for the hopeless sinner
Who has hurt all mankind just to save his own?
Believe me

Bob Marley & The Wailers – 1965

One Love is an easy-going reggae anthem that Bob Marley originally recorded in 1965 on the album The Wailing Wailers.  In 1977, a reworked version of the song appeared on the popular album Exodus and became a huge international hit.

The One Love Cocktail was created by Adam Kanter, owner of Rum Bar.  This drink is as simple and satisfying as the song with just three ingredients.  Good rum, ginger ale and lime – an old caribbean classic.  Enjoy!

1.5 oz Appleton Reserve
4 oz Ginger Ale
Squeeze of Lime

Instructions – Combine all ingredients in an ice-filled Old Fashioned glass and stir.  Add a squeeze of lime.  Now relax and enjoy (preferably at a beach or other breezy location with a view of boats and palm trees).

Happy Bob Marley Day everybody!!
