Renowned B’more Rum Bar Opens Second Location

Baltimore’s legendary rum bar, pizza joint and music venue, Joe Squared, proudly announces the opening of their second location at Power Plant Live!, the city’s premier dining and entertainment district.

Since its inception five years ago, critics and customers alike have praised Joe Squared for its distinctive square, thin-crust pizza baked in a coal-fired oven – the first such oven in Maryland. Beyond winning multiple “Best of Baltimore” awards from City Paper, Food Network Magazine described Joe Squared as such: “Eating at this alterna-pizzeria is a full-blown sensory experience, with live music, art exhibitions and the main attraction: square, thin-crust sourdough pizza, often topped with ingredients from a nearby greenhouse…”

In addition to its eclectic and seasonal culinary offerings, Joe Squared is also well known for its extensive and discerning rum list, touted as the rum bar in Baltimore by Baltimore Magazine. Customers can choose brands from more than 20 different countries, each personally selected by chef and owner Joe Edwardsen, a serious rum connoisseur.

Joe Squared at Power Plant Live! will offer bar and counter seating in addition to a large outdoor patio and will feature the same great food, drinks, free music, eclectic art shows and welcoming atmosphere that made its flagship Station North location so popular.

A full menu will be available for lunch and dinner patrons for eat-in, take-out or delivery, while the restaurant will also offer catering services. Furthermore, Joe Squared will continue its tradition of hosting free music at Power Plant Live!, showcasing blues, folk, funk, soul, rock and indie acts, and will exhibit original art work from regional talent at quarterly art shows.

“We have many loyal customers from downtown Baltimore, Fell’s Point and Federal Hill who come out to Station North,” says Edwardsen who is a major advocate of the revitalization of the area. “Now we want to bring the Joe Squared vibe to even more Baltimore businesses, residents and visitors to Power Plant Live! and contribute to the energy and excitement that’s already taking place in the district.”
