AMERICAN ARTISAN RUMS SELECTED FOR THE LARGEST RUM EVENT IN THE WESTERN HEMISPHERE
MIAMI, Florida April 26, 2010 – Five American artisan rums have been selected to show in the prestigious Rum Renaissance Festival in Miami, Florida May 5-9, 2010, the largest cane spirits event in the Western Hemisphere. These rums will be present to enjoy and explore:
- Classick Rums of Essential Spirits in Mountain View, California
- Downslope Rums of Downslope Distilling in Centennial, Colorado
- Koloa Rums of Koloa Rum Company in Kaua’i, Hawaii
- Montanya Rums of Montanya Distillers in Silverton, Colorado
- Ragged Mountain Rum of Berkshire Mountain Distillers in Great Barrington, Massachusetts
Paul Artrip, ‘The Rum Daddy’, will be hosting the American Artisan Rums booth at the main Rum Renaissance event on Saturday May 8. According to Paul, ‘America’s entrepreneurial spirit is alive and kicking in artisan and micro distilleries across the USA, and rums are leading the way. Rum was America’s first widely-produced spirit, and American ingenuity is fighting the slow economy to celebrate USA know-how and creativity.’

The Maui Dark that Paul poured last year was really excellent. Is there any chance of including it again? It is almost impossible to get on the east coast and i was just looking so forward to a sample or 5.

Hi Jeff! I deeply regret to say that Maui declined to participate this year. Their Maui Dark is, indeed, delicious. However, if you do an internet search and get their website, there’s a link to a mainland liquor store in CA carrying Maui Rums that also ships their products. Come see what I brought this year to Miami! I will see you in July.
