The Art of Thor
Tom “Thor” Thordarson has been at the top of the art scene for a number of years. He worked in Attraction Development at Universal Studios Hollywood and as a Disney Imagineer, but now focuses on creating original works that are for sale online and at his store in Waikiki.
Well known for his paintings of beaches, surf, tikis and pirates, Thor’s love of the sea is evident in all of his work and will give your imagination an opportunity to run wild. His art is incredibly detailed, lush, colorful and always fun.
He has clearly mastered most art mediums and techniques, but this one is new to us. In this clip you get a behind the scenes look at Thor painting with rum (Cruzan Black Strap and Lemon Hart to be exact). You won’t believe your eyes.

Wow, rum is the new watercolor. I love the piece he did for Hukilau a few years ago.

I own a couple of Thor’s art, but only small ones. I’ve always wanted one of his Drink Machine prints!

Some years ago I bought a print from Thor that depicts a beachside shipwreck scene. Everyone who enters my bar comments on it. Wish I would’ve thought to buy one of his originals when I had the chance.
