Ras Safari Bar
At the southern tip of Ambergris Caye in Belize sits a little beach bar called Ras Safari. It’s at the end of a long potholed road, but definitely worth a visit.

Happy tourists
Ras Safari is the epitome of laid back. The entire place consists of a small thatch roofed bar, a few picnic tables, hammocks and a series of charcoal burning grills that are the kitchen. The menu choices are simple…..jerk chicken or jerk chicken, and it’s wonderful. The beer is mostly local, Belikin Regular and Stout but Red Stripe and a few others are also offered. The rum selection is also basic, Caribbean White and Dark, but they know how to make a mean drink and serve it with a friendly smile. The music is bass-thumping reggae and will have your head bobbing in no time.

Ras Safari is the kind of place that you can spend an entire afternoon talking with friends, drinking rum and just watching the day go by. If you ever find yourself on Ambergris Caye, make sure you pay them a visit. Cheers!

We have visited Ambergris Caye 4 times and this place was our lastest favorite find. The chicken and the rum punch were wonderful and the company was even better. Can’t wait to return soon!
