What’s going on in the world of rum?  Here are a few of the happenings from the week of July 3rd.


The Associated Press announced a new state of the art rum distillery to be built in Puerto Rico.  The Club Caribe Distillery will be up and running in 2012.  Full story at the AP.

The Shelby Star reports on the selection and diversity of premium rums.  They spotlight Chairman’s Reserve Spiced, English Harbour 5 Year, Plantation Barbados 2000 and El Dorado 12.

The Indian Ocean Rum Company and Berry Bros. & Rudd Spirits have announced the UK launch of Pink Pigeon, the first super premium, spiced rum from the Island of Mauritius.  The Drink has the details.
