The rum scene in Washington DC is getting a little sweeter.  Owners of the popular Passenger bar are readying a new space with a tiki-ish theme and impressive cane spirits menu.  City Paper has the details.

“Guyana is among several Caribbean Community (Caricom) member nations that Tuesday called on the United States to urgently discuss multimillion dollar subsidies being granted to rum producers in the US Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico at the expense of regional competitors.”.
